with no obligations.
Even SMS marketing needs to be thought through - just as mail or email mailings. simpleSMS is happy to help!
Gathering of customer phone numbers At the beginning stands the gathering of customer phone numbers. If you do not yet have your customers’ mobile phone numbers, you might start with a raffle. Each customer sending a SMS to the indicated phone number (standard SMS rate,
2-WAY), is automatically entering the raffle. The point: each participant accepts automatically the eligibility requirements mentioned on the forms and the Internet page respectively. And with that you may send news, vouchers & advertising to that number – until cancelled.
SMS-Marketing hints. SMS messages are limited, i.e. you are allowed 160 text signs for one advertising message. It is not recommended to send more than 1 SMS (= 160 signs) – more might annoy the receiver! Write your SMS message short and clear. SMS means Short Message Service, i.e. your message should be short and in note form respectively and clear.
Offer your customer something additional! Send your receiver something additions! E.g. „ At presentation of this SMS you’ll get 10% on all products. Valid until 30.11.2007”. SMS messages with the same content, e.g. „New products arrived today“ might be interesting but does not have any actual advantage for the customer – the desire to cancel the newsletter might be the consequence of numerous SMS with such content.
Send no advertising that is not requested According to the valid laws (TKG=Telecommunications Law) you are only allowed to send advertising SMS only to those people who explicitly requested such SMS. In case of an emergency you must be able to present such requests. If a contractual agreement has been concluded between you and your customer (e.g. he is your customer) sending out such SMS is allowed depending on the contract and the General Terms and Conditions respectively. There must be the possibility to cancel the newsletter at any time. You must explicitly inform the receiver that he/she may unsubscribe from the newsletter.
Interval & times of mailings. Send your newsletter in acceptable intervals – a SMS every few days might annoy the receiver. A SMS every week or every second week are within an acceptable range. Think about the fact that SMS messages – compared to mail or email mailings – are received with a signal i.e. don’t send your messages at times, when the receiver e.g. might be asleep (between 9 pm and 9 am).
